Soundgarden aiming for October release for new album

Wed, 09 May 2012
Soundgarden have been in the studio working on their first studio album since 1996's "Down On The Upside" and are hoping for an October release.

The Seattle grunge band recorded and released a brand new song for the soundtrack for Movie Blockbuster "Avengers Assemble" which has been a box office hit. "Live To Rise" will not feature on the new album from the band (but can be heard below) but is available to download for free on iTunes.

Frontman Chris Cornell spoke to Rolling Stone Magazine recently and revealed the new, yet to be titled album, is likely to be released in October he explains "I would say September but I'm just guessing October. We're pretty much done with everything."
