Booker T bassist Donald Dunn passes away aged 70

Legendary bass guitar player Donald "Duck" Dunn has sadly passed away over the weekend in Tokyo, Japan.

Donald Dunn was best known for his time with Booker T and the MG's, but during his long career he also played with Eric Clapton, Neil Young and Stevie Nicks - aswell as staring as himself in the 1980 hit movie The Blues Brothers.

The 70 year old was in Japan for a series of concert with fellow musician Steve Cropper who paid tribute to his friend on his Facebook Page early yesterday (Sunday).

"Today I lost my best friend," said Steve Cropper on his Facebook page,"The World has lost the best guy and bass player to ever live".

BBC News reports that a spokeswoman for the Tokyo Blue Note venue confirmed that Dunn died alone in his sleep, at the current time no further details are available.
