As a huge fan of Yngwie Malmsteen and shred guitar in general, I was very pleased to know that Licklibrary had recorded a Quick Licks DVD in the style of Malmsteen.
It goes without saying that I was blown away not only by how Andy James performs the licks and then puts them together in an epic Malmsteen style solo along with the backing track (reminiscent of his 80's style) but also by how he teaches them. They are demonstrated at speed first and then broken down for the guitarists to work on. I feel that these licks are great excercises to help improve one's technique as well.
The licks taught on this DVD are by no means easy to master which means that this DVD is more directed towards advanced level players. Intermediate level players (such as myself) should be able to manage these licks but it will take some time and work to get them up to speed. However, if you are a fan of Yngwie Malmsteen or shred guitar in general, I would advise anyone to get this DVD, regardless of their level and spend time going through the licks and not be discouraged by their complexity, especially if that is where you want to go as a player. It is an essential purchase for fans of shred guitar and heavy metal guitar.

Big METAL Fan and enjoyed very much this DVD it is very Hard but as Andy James stated if you want to get better then Challenge your -self.Andy is a Great Player and the info and licks in this DVD are Very Cool so I say get it hands down and dont be frustrated be Inspired and take it in at your speed.I have been playing many years and it still gets me but this DVD is helping me get there slowly but surely .THANKS LiclLibrary ....Jeff Scruggs ...
