Motörhead Unveil Rock Headphones
The Heavy Metal icons have just unveiled their own brand of headphones that suit the EQ of rock rather than bass heavy popular music
It's hard to not see the rise of brands like Skullcandy and Dr Dre's Beats which, although popular, are incredibly weighted towards boosting the bass frequencies. Motörhead haven't glanced over this fact, and have decided to put out their own brand of high end headphones that pay more respect to the mid range frequency you get from guitar driven music.
"We just wanted our music, especially, and rock music in general to sound great," guitarist Phil Campbell explained, "We wanted to hear the mid-range and the guitars - and for people to appreciate them. There's so much drum and bass-focussed stuff out there, and that's fine, but these are for people that like the pleasure of listening to mid-range stuff"
The prices range from £39.99 to £129.99, as Campbell went on to explain, "There are a lot of working class people that follow our band, good fans, and we didn't want to be dangling stuff in front of them that they can't afford, that wasn't an option with us. We wanted some good, affordable headphones, so that they could listen to great rock music. Besides, it all goes on tax anyways!"
