I just downloaded Stuart Bull's Let there be rock tutorial and whilst I like Stuart's lessons, I am disappointed with this one. I've sussed most of the song, just can't work out the last bit of the solo. Show me what Angus actually plays, suggest how this could be a bit simpler and still sound right, great, I'm all for that, I'll play it as close as I can and hope it sounds right. But don't spend ages on G5, A5, E5 and then come the second solo, cop out with "yea, just improvise with A min pent chuck in the min 3rd, Chuck Berry you know". No, I don't know, that's why I bought a lesson you cabbage! You know I can't improvise 'cos I bought your 'learn to improvise DVD', I'm playing a 35 song set list in pubs and I can't tell you what key any of them are in, never mind how the solo's constructed. Come on Stuart, when it's a theory DVD, we'll chuck the 3rd in, and I will work more on my theory soon, I promise, but when it's a song DVD, show me the notes 'cos I'm playing it live next week and I won't be able to improvise it. If you just can't play the 'DC, give it to Danny, he's pretty bang on :-) Right, back to the kid on youtube and his grainy video.
