Andy James

Andy James

Andy James needs little introduction as one of the most popular LickLibrary tutors, respected the world over for his unbelievable technical skills and teaching material.

As a player Andy has released a string of solo albums, the last being 2012's "Andy James" on Transcend Music which was met with huge critical acclaim. Andy is also the guitarist for EMI signed act, "Sacred Mother Tongue" who are set to take over the world of metal in the near future. If there was ever a more focused, uncompromising metal guitarist than Andy James, we'd sure love to see him.

Andy's popularity has really peaked in recent years with tours all over the world as a solo artist, with Scared Mother Tongue and as a clinician. He is well supported by EMG pickups, Laney amps and ESP guitars who have given him his own signature model.

I saw you play "The Day That Never Comes" by Metallica and I was absolutely floored. That had to be without a doubt the best I've ever seen with Metallica themselves being the only exception. You are an absolutely insane and amazing guitarist and musician. Every time I strap up and play from now on, all I'm gonna be thinking about is how the hell I can get myself that good! I'm self-taught with a DVD and a few books being my only teacher so I kinda lack discipline and proper technique. I've gained some bad habits that I'm trying to work on, but without proper direction it's hard to pinpoint some of the less obvious mistakes I make. But after seeing you play that song, it made me wanna try that much more to be perfect, cuz I'm a perfectionist so I get myself frustrated when I mess up. But you, my man, are insanely good. You do rock \m/ \m/

    Hello mister James!

I saw your lesson preview on how to play More Than Meets The Eye, and I was hooked.

You sir made me want to learn to play a guitar. And I would be thrilled if you would be able to make a perfomance video of you playing the aforementioned song!

Andy you are the best...question on fingering: I have been practicing your pentatonic lessons, and notice you use your second and third fingers where I would normally use my third and fourth. It is a little bit of stretch for my to copy your fingering, but I think in time it will become easier with practice. Is there an advantage of using one over the other? Thanks for the great lessons!
