    Rating: 5 - the best.

Don't be fooled by the avuncular charm and easy banter, Steve Trovato is a seriously talented country picker and great communicator! This is a great DVD for intermediate or advanced players who would like to add some country chops to the repertoire and unravel a few mysteries of the playing style. Steve's enthusiasm and ability to demonstrate banjo rolls, chicken pickin', double stop bends...blah...makes a very enjoyable instuctional DVD and YOU a better player. Great section on getting the right sound too, I found that section really useful.

    If in doubt, buy it!

I have a few of the Quick Licks videos, and so far, I have enjoyed this one the most. Steve does a great job. The licks are fun and challenging. I highly recommend this DVD for anyone with intermediate+ skills and wants to get moving on country guitar. I completely agree with Paul Crump's review in that Steve is an amazing guitar player. If anything, he might be holding back a little on this DVD. If you don't believe me, check out some video of Steve on youtube as a youngster doing country instructional videos. He is shredding ... much more complex than this DVD. But again, this DVD comes highly recommended.

My only critiques of the DVD are

    1) I wish they would put a "finale" on this one. In other words, a really challenging and cool outro, free-time kid of thing.

    2) I think the audience for this DVD is a little more advanced and I think that spending a lot of time slowly pointing out each note and fret number might be a bit overkill.

    Bravo Steve and Lick Library!
